Paul J. Taubman
CEO

Paul J. Taubman is the Chairman and CEO of PJT Partners, an advisory-focused investment bank. Mr. Taubman founded PJT Partners in early 2013 and, in October 2014, announced the intention to merge into the spun-off Blackstone advisory businesses. The newly combined company was formed and began trading on the NYSE on October 1, 2015.

Prior to founding PJT Partners, Mr. Taubman spent almost 30 years at Morgan Stanley in a series of increasingly significant leadership positions including Co-President of Institutional Securities. After retiring from Morgan Stanley in 2012, he served in an independent capacity to advise companies on a number of significant transactions before starting PJT Partners. Mr. Taubman received his BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Mr. Taubman is involved in numerous philanthropic activities including serving as Board President of New York Cares, a Trustee and Executive Committee member of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a National Advisory Board member of Youth INC, and a Trustee of the Foundation for Educating Children with Autism.

Borja Arteaga
Partner

Borja Arteaga is a Partner in the Advisory Group at PJT Partners, based in Madrid.

He is responsible for advisory activities in Spain and Portugal. Prior to joining PJT, Mr. Arteaga was a Senior Managing Director at Blackstone.

Previously, Mr. Arteaga worked at Rothschild for thirteen years and co-headed the Spanish operations. Prior to that, he worked at the M&A department of Goldman Sachs, at the private equity division of Santander in Latin America and at Netjuice, an internet start-up.

He has worked on M&A, restructuring, equity and refinancing transactions for corporates across a range of sectors including consumer, retail, business services, healthcare, media, financial institutions, leisure and infrastructure and also led the coverage of financial sponsors. Mr. Arteaga has an MBA from INSEAD and a double major in business and law from ICADE-E3 in Madrid.

Jamie Baird
Partner

Jamie Baird is a Partner in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group. Prior to joining PJT Partners, Mr. Baird spent 13 years at Blackstone in the Restructuring & Reorganization Group. Mr. Baird has advised companies, municipalities, creditors and sponsors in restructurings and special situations involving over $125 billion of liabilities. He has worked across numerous industries including municipals, gaming, media/telecom, retail, automotive, industrials, forest products, aerospace, financials, real estate, insurance and oil and gas.

Mr. Baird is a frequent panelist at conferences and speaks at various schools on restructuring related topics. He received an A.B. from Bowdoin College and an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School.

Ivan Brockman
Partner

Ivan Brockman is a Partner in the Advisory Group at PJT Partners, based in San Francisco. Prior to joining PJT Partners, Mr. Brockman spent seven years with Blackstone’s technology advisory practice in Silicon Valley, opening the firm’s office there in 2008. Mr. Brockman has over twenty years of experience advising companies, financial sponsors, and VCs in all sectors of technology. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Brockman was co-head of West Coast Technology Investment Banking for Citigroup, and led the firm’s global investment banking business in enterprise systems and software. Prior to Citigroup, he was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs’ TMT investment banking group and led the firm’s client relationships in software and electronics supply chain. He also practiced corporate and securities law for several years with the technology-focused firm, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Mr. Brockman received a BS with distinction in Genetics from Cornell University and a JD from University of Pennsylvania Law School.

C.J. Brown
Partner

C.J. Brown is a Partner in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group at PJT Partners.

Previously, Mr. Brown was a Senior Managing Director in Blackstone’s Restructuring & Reorganization Group. He spent ten years at Blackstone advising clients across a broad range of industries and geographic markets, including several in Brazil. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Brown was an Associate in the Global Industries Group at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., where he worked on several capital-raising and merger and acquisition advisory transactions. Mr. Brown received a BA in Accounting from Moravian College and an MBA with Distinction from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Mark Buschmann
Partner

Mark Buschmann is a Partner in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group at PJT Partners.

Previously, Mr. Buschmann was a Senior Managing Director in Blackstone’s Restructuring & Reorganization Group. He spent fourteen years at Blackstone and has worked on a variety of restructuring and strategic advisory assignments across a broad range of industries.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Buschmann worked in the Financial Institutions Group of Salomon Smith Barney, where he executed various mergers and acquisitions and financing assignments. Mr. Buschmann is a member of the New York City Bar Association Bankruptcy Committee and the International Insolvency Institute NextGen Leadership Program. He is a frequent panelist at conferences and schools on restructuring related topics. Mr. Buschmann received a BA in Economics and German Literature from Dartmouth College and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
